None of my interior lights are comming on when the doors are opened or when you unlock on the key fob. They are defo turned on and the fuse is ok, its all of them so can't be a bulb. I also think the indicators don't flash when I lock up, don't know if this is connected. Anyone had this issue before? And any info on how it was sorted would be gratefully received. Thanks

odd, youve checked all fuses etc, i know the seat ones are connected to some stuff too!

i only found out that the wires were trapped when something else wouldnt work!

Fuses all ok. Its every light in the car that should come on automatically, main interior, puddle lights, footwell lights and boot light all not comming on. The map reading lights which you have to manually turn on are working ok.

Very odd, just hopin its one of those things that goes away all by itself like a few things I've had before. If not don't know where to start on this one!!!

I've got the same problem at the moment which seemed to stem from a fault relating to the door lock[my car is telling me the drivers door is open when it's not]and triggers the alarm.I took gavs advise and removed the door mechanism, opening it up and cleaning it,but the problem remains. However I have noticed there are three micro switches inside the unit, that obviously relate messages electronically to the computor.I'm installing a second hand unit tomorrow so will let you know if it solves the problem,i'm hoping one of the micro switches is faulty.A second hand unit can be bought for under £50 quid

Think you may have misunderstood the advice re pressing the centre button. Press and hold it for a few seconds and a message will come up on the dash saying 'interior lights on'. Mine was the very same and funnily enough none of my indicators or sidelights flash on locking but the interior light works fine now when you open the door.

Hope it sorts the issue for you. Think mine must be something else because the lights don't come on when you unlock on the key fob and don't come on when you open any of the four doors or the tail gate. Central locking working fine and no messages!!!

I'm getting the beep and the message centre says the interior lights are on but they are deffo not!!

May be the actual light unit got damp and corroded inside. Have you noticed any water dripping in through it after the recent bad weather?

It's not just two wires and a bulb in there but a whole lot of intricate circuitry as well.

Thanks from me as well Hippolover, mine had decided to stop working but after a technical button press all is ok. If only it would work for the central locking as well.

Still haven't sorted this issue. The electrical section in rave was pretty much like double dutch to me but there is power to rear interior lights because they can be turned on manually and indicators are working as indicators just not flashing on opening and closing. As the interior lights can be turned off manually by the main light switch could this function be turned off via testbook and has mine done this all by itself!!

Just trying to gauge opinion on whether a session on testbook is likely to throw any light:rolleyes: on this issue.

The becm has been mentioned but apart from this problem the Rangie is running 100% but I suppose becm issues have to start somewhere:eek:

I had mine on a Testbook and couldn't find the bit where it sets which lights flash when the alarm is set. I think Rovacom or Faultmate does it though as someone once sent me a page view which showed the options of side and tail, dip and tail and indicators. It also goes on about day running lamps, sunroofs, number of times you need to press to unlock the doors - once, twice, etc. My interior lights are ok (except one of the footwell lights but that's a bulb gone). On the 1998 P38 the sidelights flash when setting the alarm and on the 2000 none flash. This is the weird bit - they both had flashing indicators when we got them! The older one developed faulty door locks which I changed and the newer one's stopped working when I re-activated the automatic interior lights. I intend to get them looked at again, maybe by someone with a Rovacom. Will keep you informed.

......It was Wills who sent me the data sheet......

I know testbook can change alot of settings so might be woth a session just as a process of elimination. The non flashing indicators I can live with but no interior lights are prooving to be a real pain in the butt!!

My indicators used to flash when unlocking and locking the doors, however they decided to change themselves a couple of weeks ago to flashing the side lights instead.....
