interior light not coming on

when I open any door apart from the front passenger door the interior/courtesy lights come on as they should, if I open the front passenger door the interior lights do not come on. What could be the possible causes?

PS I know absolutely nothing about electrics.

Dirty/stuck contact switch on the door's frame possibly?

Yep that will be it mate!
Undo the screw and remove the plunger - clean it off and replace it - try it - sorted

yep was def the switch just went out to have a quick look, under the torchlight of my phone removed it wiggled it and it came straight on. went to put back the screw, dropped it, its now somewhere on the tarmac to be found tomorrow:doh: and job to be finished tomorrow its too dark and cold tonight, cheers fellas!

Definite cure.

Get kids. Show them where the interior light switches are. The fekkin things will be on the whole time. You won't notice though, until you approach at 5am in the dark to head off for work...
