RE: Def 90 200DTI

Hello All- I was going to flush radiator as fluid was very rusty and hoses stiff and crackly when you squeeze them. My helper whom will remain nameless, dragged the hose over and proceeded to flush the intercooler with H2O. Can I just tape a blow dryer on the top hose inlet and let it dry out or must I remove it and put some petrol in there and shake it about? Thoughts? Thank you from USA.

just take bottom hose off and get rid of most of the water

Use the turbo itself to blow the intercooler clear, just point the manifold hose skywards and give her some revs, obviously making sure no water goes into the manifold itself!
Does not need to be bone dry, few drips wont do any harm.

Tell your helper to go back to the house and don’t try helping again.
You may as well have the intercooler out and give that a clean too. I use brake and clutch cleaner, others use paraffin, others use engine degreaser. Put a decent amount of your chosen solvent in, couple of pints maybe, give the IC a good shaking and leave for 20 mins. Empty contents and flush with more clean solvent and/or water and leave to dry.
