Hi
I have recently upgraded to a TD5 disco and I am considering doing all the usual mods e.g. de-cat, de-egr and maybe a remap. I have it insured with standard insurance at the moment and I was going to tell them about what I have done.
Has anyone had experience doing this? Am I to expect a frosty reception from them and are they going to sting me for lots more pennies????

my insurance halved in price from a standard disco with elephant to a heavily modified disco with offroad cover with adrian flux

all depends on insurance companys some dont care one bit, others use it as an excuse to rip you of

I'm sure you have no idea that before you bought it someone had replaced the cat section of the exhaust for a cheaper non-cat pipe, couldn't be arsed to fix the EGR so removed it and had a 'diagnostic' run on the ecu...
savvy!

If you're with Churchill you will be told to FO.

NFU had no hassle insuring my TD5 with similar mods to yours at a better rate than the men with the dog.

Will I get away with insuring mine as a 2.5td (standard) as I have just put the 3.9 hot wire in it and gonna be expensive

I've been with NFU for the previous 2 years and I'm currently with adrian flux. The only reason I changed over is because NFU had to hear back from the underwriters to get all my mods written into my policy and unfortunately left it too late to get back to me with the ok. Price wise Adrian flux are fractionally cheaper but I would happily use either of them again.

Steer clear of Equity who claim to be landrover specialists. It took them around 3 months to pay out when my previous landy got torched.
