Can anybody recommend a good (yep right) insurance company?

I am with not-More Than (yee-ha) at the moment, but their looking for £400 renewal for a P reg diesel P38
I have full no claims and only had one accident on my motorbike (seperate policy) last year.
Hit & run - so that shouldn't count against me!

Except if your name is 'less than' and they tried to cancel the no claims on my other car

well, the specialist ones are adrian flux, lancaster, footman james etc. Pick up a land rover owners international mag, loads of insureres in there. If not, use moneysupermarket.com and compare it there, BUT, dont click "buy now", go through to the chosen insurere ureself, saves you abit of cash

Who insures yer cobra? or is it just a "want"?

I'm with SureTerm - they understand Landys and were far cheaper than mainstream companies.
NFU Mutual are another good one for Landys.

i went with sure term direct. they gave me an anual no-limits green card, full green lane cover, show cover, guaranteed 4x4 courtesy car, fully comp, and a bunch of other stuff for reasonable money considering I have about 6 points and no no-claims-bonuses

in fact they actually generated a no claims bonus for me so i could use it on their insurance! you can get insurance cheep if you just say "i need to look at some other companies and i have some really great quotes to consider". i think they have a button marked "take-a-bit-off" that the can press each time they think they are loosing you

Direct line stll the cheapest for me. And when the missus wrote her car off and it was her own fault they paid out pronto so we know they're sound in the event of any mishaps.
I got a quote off one of those compare sites a while back which quoted me a really good price from the post office but when I went to the PO's own site it was a hundred and twenty quid dearer!!

Gocompare.com and the AA databases do not recognise that there was a 2.5 engine made in 1984! I also found the same with some others (they utilise the same databases). Even speaking to them, they are adamant there were 2 1/4 engines still being made, but no 2.5s! So mine and all those others I've seen must be figments of my imagination! So if you think this one shown to the left here in the snow is real, it's not,.... your just imagining it!

Reading the posts above, I just rang Sureterm - they saved me a tenner, which I would not usualy move insurers for, but given the quality of the service people say they get (and the guy knew about Landrovers! - That's a *real* change) I've gone over to them and the cover is *vastly* superior too. Really pleased, what a great attitude they have.

Chaucer were cheap but 2 months on from my landy being torched they STILL haven't paid out.

Sureterm wouldn't touch me cos of the above

NFU are who I am with and it is only £260 a year fully comp with all mods declared and for business use.

NFU National Farmers Union comes out on top for me everytime. No hassle with landies etc.
RATTY, that bloomin 'bug' avatar you have crawling round catches me out everytime!!:D

TBH, I found them to be crap. They just didn't want to know about a modified Landy.

And whats with green lane cover? Shirly a green lane is a road, abielt and un-paved one, so why do you need seperate insurance for it? Or is it another insurance company scam?

To answer the OP's question, may I reccomend "A-Plan". I use them on all my motors. No complaints at all.

Adrian flux said im insured on and off road, including greenlaning. My fiestas insured off road when its parked on me driveway but more than dont sing and dance about that!.I think its a bit of political "spin" that sounds good.
