The time has come to start looking seriously for a series 2a for me to enjoy (initally as a second car) so I thought I'd get some quotes for insurance.
The first place I contacted wanted £1350  and she got offended when I laughed.
Direct line, who also insure my Saab, wanted nearly £300  (and that for third party only).
I'm 43, clean license for 20+ years and live in a fairly safe place, how can they justify that much for a 3000 miles per year policy ?
Can anyone recommend a decent insurer/broker who will give me cover for occasional use at a reasonable price ?

try the nfu (national farmers union) all my insurance is with them from my landy to my house etc ,ive always found them to be brilliant, ive rung them for cover at 4 pm and had a cover note in the first post the day after,

i pay £ 160 for me and the missus fully comp on a series 3 with a 2.5 diesel tranny engine, shes 25 and im 40 ,ad weve got 5 years no claims tho shes had 1 bump with total loss ,hope that helps dude

Gosh don't know what planet some of these insurance companies live on

OK assume you have no claims in last 5 years can prove you use another car, no young drivers etc then try classic car cover with some of the brokers such as Pete best, Adrian flux

Have a series 2a like yourselves, can spend some time getting the right quote i go for a basic SDP only fixed miles , seure storage no legal cover and keeping the vechicle basic then should get less £100 pa depends also where you live, check if your covered for greenlanes, voluteer work etc. trails you are not covered but then the club should cover the 3rd party bit

Might have to wait till tuesday most only open 9-5
