Just had my renewal quote for my 98 p38 diesel, fully comp protected £250 excess, 3000k per annum for £145. Is this good ?

My insurance went up when the Wirral was stolen by Merseyside and we got an L postcode. When we got our CH postcode back our insurance didn't go down, how surprising.

Great price, I pay about €320 fully comp for 10K Km per year with a rebate for unused Km's. However, unlike UK insurance, it covers use in all of Europe and recovery to a garage in case of breakdown.

Europe wide cover but no recovery, 178 euros for the Clio in Fuerte, Europe wide, recovery, hire car for up to 3 weeks, free glass cover and unlimited klms. Think I do more mileage over there than here.

Datatek have you ever had the pleasure of using the breakdown service, what did you think of it?

When I last had my 2000 P38 4.6 in the UK some 4 years ago I was charged the princely sum of £850 but I also never had a residential UK address so also had to shop around a lot to get cover. But it did have full European cover and relay as far as eastern Europe. luckily never needed it on a trans European trip to Crimea. Now on Russian insurance and its £50 for the year but no breakdown assistance as blank looks given when asked about this.

If you're intending doing three million miles in a year then I think that you've got a real bargain.

UK insurance must have changed, the Europe wide cover used to be third party as standard and cost about £90 for 3 months full comp extension. Not only is my insurance full comp anywhere in Europe, but the recovery is also valid throughout Europe

Yes, not in the P38 though. Waited about 90 minutes for the recovery truck to arrive, took me to the nearest dealer and arranged a hire car, the first three days of which were free, in time for me to make it to the ferry on time.
