Lancaster Insurance I Found Were Pretty Good, Got A Crash Under My Belt In My First Year Of Driving (Still In It) And They Gave Me A Good Price For My 90 Which Has Lift Kit (No Winch Etc) But I've Found Their Pretty Good,

I found Firebond insurance very good, think they may have changed their name but advertise in the back of LRO, all the same. I didnt find NFU very helpful, and they would not insure my landy without an LPG certificate, and questioned a few of my mods.

im with bedford insurance services
quite good although mines is technically a commercial vehicle modified fer work use as im self employed
comes in at same price as my 1.9 kangoo van

front winch,rear winch mount(only) 2"lift
no engine mods
roll cage, light bar, etc, sign written(god knows why this is such a big issue but it is for some reason)fuel tank, steering etc protection fitted
must point out i do a lot of civil engineering work and can justify requiring a winch in the normal course of my buiness same goes for getting stuck in a field so includes off highway recovery(ment for sites etc)
so if your in an office job might not be the best policy

NFU are excellent. All mods declared

Adrian Flux and all of the so called 'Land Rover Specialists' who advertise in the back of LR magazines woudn't touch me because I have 12 seats.

NFU? I think I have my own idea on what that stands for, after giving them a synopsis of the mods they declined to offer cover. Lancaster kept me on the phone 45 minutes going through mods they'd obviously never heard of then said they couldn't offer cover!

So how many here have really got a modified Landy? It seems if you're serious about modifying most don't want to know, alloys and spotlights are apparently OK, but that's not what I would consider modifying!

I'll start again..someone has to do it!

This is quite an old thread to resirecty but id recomend adrian flux-mods included

I'm with NFU. All mods are covered as long as I don't tamper with the engine. It's covered for both myself and my missus for business use and even includes towing brokendown vehicles. My insurance was £258 last year. I've just renewed it this year and it's £296.
