What is that all about?!?!

With Sureterm, nothing has changed at our end. Completely std Mk1 Freelander. We were on some special Land Rover policy where you didn't earn no claims, but not sure about the one they have suggested as it mentions no claims bonus.

just renewed mine for my 90 200tdi with them about £300 again fully comp ,free off rd and caravan cover, phone em again tell them to come up with a better quote or ya off elsewhere.

I'm with autonet at the moment.... Was £1200 last year this year they want £4800!!!!!!!!! Looked around and the cheapest I can find is £2700!!!! Daylight robbery!

Adrian flux won't insure me because I'm 19, I'm waiting for a reply from the nfu and not heard of Frank pickle... I'll look in to them now... :) I think I'm gonna had no matter where I go:mad:

NFU just put my insurance up from £302 to £522 so I shopped around.
I ended up adding my 110 to an existing Admiral policy and going multicar - £275.
Most of the commodity insurers wouldn`t quote, so you are better going to a specialist broker, particularly at 19.
Sureterm have my RRC and the increase this year wasn`t too bad, but it goes in cycles, next year NFU might be down again and Sureterm up

Well iv got a month to shop around so. I'll let you know what happens

Most specialist insurers won't insure me because of my age...

NFU, flux and pickles won't insure under 25s anymore! I can't find a quote that I can afford! So I havnt got a clue what to do! Iv even looked in to getting a different motor :(

Anyone tried the peugeot 'just add fuel' thing? It is £180 per month and 'includes full comp insurance'

I really dont wanna but I might have to flog the Landy! :(

I got a quote from Adrian Flux in November, at the time I was just about to turn 20, they quoted me as a main driver and were £100 cheaper than NFU. They also insure several of my friends with modified land rovers and they are not 21 yet.

I stuck with NFU as they give me 3rd party cover on any vehicle whereas flux wouldn't.

The NFU will insure under 21s, but usually your parents/grandparents have to have another policy with them be it for a car, house/contents, farm, quadbike, boat etc.

I'm 20 and have been with them since i was 17 (on my own policy) because my parents have a few things insured with them ;)

£178 fully comp for my 200tdi 90. Lancaster wanted £234 for the renewal so I phoned them up and told them I wanted it for the same as last year and they were only too pleased. I then added all my mods on top for no extra. Top Stuff :D

I gave them all a call the other day an explained my situation and they said they couldn't insure me due to my age... My parents don't have any policies with them though...

im in very much the same situation, i just rang nfu and 21 is their age limit but if you get parents to swap their car insurance to them your sorted.

Also try adding your parents as a named driver (not main driver) to your policy - can reduce it by a fair bit if they are good drivers with clean licenses.

Or get a 'classic' - £100 fully comp, all mods declared, etc. - and no tax to pay :)

Shop around if you are serious about this, I did the same thing when I was looking at a 107 for the missus, ended up getting a cheaper deal from Toyota on a new Aygo and paying the insurance seperatly.

I finally spoke to Sureterm - they said that if my freelander was modified I could stay on the same "Enthusiast" policy as last year for the same money, but as the vehicle is standard they are not interested! :( Mods included lifts, underbody protection, big wheels/tyres, cages, winches etc etc

£202 with Lancaster for my 1990 Defender / 90, fully comp for me and the wife, 9 years no claims and an agreed value of £9500. all mods declared.

I took my policy out with adrian flux last year at 21.
Never mentioned anything bout being over 25....

Cost £480 ish with all mods, offroad cover, break down cover, and key cover.

One thing it doesnt giv me is cover on other vehicles... so might shop around when the time comes
