Has anyone fitted something in their defender that gives actual decent heat insulation?

Fed up freezing my nuts off on the vinyl seats.

Was thinking about that silver stuff they sell in screwfix thats meant to be the same as 50mm of polystyrene and putting it under the rooflining and carpets. Anyone done it?

cheers

I sit on the cats fake wool ( its fluffy as hell :) ) basket linning to sit on , vinyl seats are like ice on there own . Blanked off just over half the rad also ramed a rag in the passenger feet vent to push more heat to the drivers side .

Its a fair bit warmer but still got a draft through the door :( .
You could also make up a curtain ( if your not a truck cab ) to keep some of the heat in the front , that worked very well on my brother S2 :) .

Hi, I used insulating material that is used for caravans and camping cars. I bought it in a camping superstore in France - must be available in the UK.
The insulation comes in varying thicknesses and is sold by the metre. I used the max thickness (which is 7 layers of aluminium foil and synthetic wool) and am very happy with the result.
My 90 hard top was bloody cold - rubbish heater plus no interior lining (in the rear). All I did was to glue the material to the total length of the roof, so you have to take off the roof liner above driver & passenger (which is replaced)
If you want you can also line the interior of the doors.
Believe me, there is a big difference - thermal as well as sound.
