Inside passenger door handle

The inside passenger door handle of my 3 door 300tdi has stopped working.

I've taken the door card off & had a look, but it's difficult to see how it's supposed to work, never mind why it isn't working.

Does anyone have any advice as to what to look for? Is this a common fault?

Check other ebay listings for sets etc ... I bought a 5 door set (mines a three door) and in five years have used four of them ...

It doesn't get easier, it's a bitch to wobble, rotate, curse, and pull like buggery to get the locks out to replace the spring. I don't think there's an easy way to do it ...

I thought the spring replacement was to fix the lock, not the inside door handle.

Am I wrong again?

Dunno ... but every time my disco's done the same, door handle not working, it's been the spring.

Acksherlly, now you mention it ... I can't remember f I've ever tried the passenger handle of my disco, other than to open the bonnet, and I've never opened it from inside ... so I dunno

I just know I've replaced four springs in three doors, twice in the rear door and one each for the fronts, so I may be wrong ...

the lil curly springs are a common fault on the discovery doors, the door catch is a right complicated bitch to connect all the rods back on so i would suggest you take a few pictures with a mobile phone so you know what goes where.
i did this and it helped me no end when it come to reconnecting all the different rods back on. the springs are a bitch to fit but if your patient and careful youll find they do go in with out any problems. you can get the springs off ebay for about 5 quid for two.
it took me about an hour to remove them fit the spring and refit them (not including retrimming the door card) hope this helps.
