Hi guys,
Thinking of getting some Insa Turbo Special Tracks 265/75/r16 for off road/green laning but will need to use them on the road a fair bit too. I know they'll be noisy but does anybody know how good/bad their on road ability is?
Thanks.

I have them too, 265/75 16

they are fine on the road, never had any problems, fokin noisy though..really, really noisy.
but if you dont drive like a boy racer you'll be fine.

I've had no problems with the grip offered by mine either on road or off road. I've been running them for over 2 1/2 years on my TD5 110. There are some downsides to them though. The first is down to the size tyre you are opting for. I find that with the 265's they throw mud, spray, salt etc up the sides of the landy and you I find myself having to clean your windows more regularly. Problem 2 is the road noise. I'm not exagerating when I say that it is like having a helicopter hovering overhead all the time when doing approx 40mph upwards. The tyres aren't just slightly noisey. They are VERY noisey. You will also notice around a 3-5mpg loss in fuel economy too. If you are happy to put up with the above then by all means go for them.

Totally agree with JP. I drove mine back from Cardiff to Devon and they're so loud it's funny - they have this frequency at about thirty that just resonates through your skull. Work well off road for me though, but you have to be a bit careful of tank-slapper moments on road if you change direction a bit quick!

...and big stereo definately needed to hear over them. good old ebay, and I was only looking for a cheap cd player!

I got the 265's on me 110. On mods. Found that bfg were fine at the same size but then these went on and they rub the radius arm, so adjusting the lockstops is a must. They are noisy but then so is the rest of the landy! Offroad they are un-stoppable!

Guys you've sold them to me ... I'm already looking forward to hearing them :) ... Probably buy some on mods and then keep my brand new 8 spokes with Pirelli Scorpions on for the summer (drier) months and so preserve the Insas for the 9 months of mud and snow we get here! Thanks all.
