One would ask the question, as to how you knacker the thread in a steel plate by screwing a plastic filter into it? Just disconnect compressor and change it no problem.

I'd also love to hear the answer to this question.

;) cheers wammers so i just undo the blue pipe 1st then and then access the plate ????..cheers wammers

Yeah just take off the mounting nuts. Lift and tilt the compressor, you may not even have to remove the blue pipe although it will make it easier. Remove three 5/16 (8mm) spanner size bolts and crank cover plate will come off. Be careful of gasket.

many thanks wammers will follow what you say ,,, the answer to why the new one wont screw in is when i took the old one out it was unscrewing at a wonky angle and then i seen why , someone ? has had a screwdriver to the hole and fkd it up why i dont know ??? as you say its only a plastic filter so i think it wasnt sealing quite right .. anyway will fit new plate and filter and hopefully should show a marked improvement on the performance of the eas ,,cheers everyone for all your help ,,mozz :):):)

Don't think it will make a vast amount of difference, unless your old filter was blocked up.
