if diesel injectors are not working would you get blue/white smoke when engine at normal temperature but not when cold? i get lots of smoke when warm, just fitted a recon turbo, reason was it ran on its own engine oil for a short time before being stopped.

I thought the oil was just in the exhaust and cat and needed to burn off within 30 mins or so.
i also changed the oil, there was only half a pint in the oil tray

I replaced the oil with fully synthetic and i can now smell this oil being burnt in the smoke fumes. the engine ticks over fine and revs fine with no sign of a miss fire. the car is a ... Renault megane sienic 1.9 dci 2002. ok its not a range rover but the Renault forum is full of plonkers and the mods have to read every post before placing it on the site and that takes days.:):):)

may take a while to clear, did it seriously over speed? guess you have loads of oil in pipe work etc

Hi Doug white smoke is un burnt fuel. My Discovery had this when the timing was out so it may be an injector not working/spraying correctly or on time.
