just bought 4 new bosch injectors for 300 tdi disco from paddocks ordered online and thought the copper washers would come with them but no washers came

is it alright to use washers from old injectors Haynes manual says new ones should be used

look forward to any help

Either anneal old washers or preferably buy new ones, they are only pennies...

I had the same situation about 6 weeks ago.

Yes you can, but take care!

You need a perfectly flat very fine sharp file.

DO NOT USE SANDPAPER! The file must be DEAD FLAT.

Rub the washers UP the file twice or three times each side (rotating a bit between each time) to remove the black staining and to leave a file cross-hatch pattern on the surfaces.

The file MUST be a VERY fine and flat one or you will damage the washers.

Make SURE the seat in the head are perfectly clean, and the underside of the injectors. You may use a little coppergrease.

It isn't a big deal if one leaks anyway - unless it is a TD5 which is a disaster.

Not a problem, clean/file as mentioned. You can tell if they are leaking as about a month or so of use what can only be described as a black 'gunge' will appear around the body of the non sealing injector/s. If that happens there is no panic, just order a set of washers and spend an hour replacing them.

Actually, doing it my way is BETTER than using brand new washers!
I suggest you try it!

Save the new washers for spares.
