I have been a few issues with my Range Rover which some fixes have been resolved after reading posts on here but now it’s time to reach out for some advice on whether I call it a day now.

I’ve got a 2006 L322 with 107K on the clock and so far I’ve avoided some big bills but think that’s about to change.

The main issue is in reverse the vehicle runs awful, it judders and shakes unless you give it some gas. Reading previous posts it’s recommened you flush the box @ 100K but I’ve just spoken to a garage who said they can do this but want me to sign a disclaimer because it might not fix or even help the issue.

This has been like that for a few months and it doesn’t seem to have got worse, luckily for the 7 months or so I’ve not had to commute so the use has been minimal.

I’ve just recently had it serviced again (twice this year already) and the mechanic pointed out that the ECU light doesn’t light up. There’s no faults but that got me a bit alarmed. The reason it he checked for faults is because it’s started running a bit lumpy now. The rev doesn’t idle and even when I’m at lights in D I have to put it into neutral or park just to stop the cabin shaking. I’m not sure what this could be, reading different posts it could be injectors or linked to the gearbox issue above since they’re common to fail @ 100K. It’s also started shaking at the back when doing 50, if you accelerate past 50 it the shaking/vibration at the rear goes, I’ve just recently had the discs and pads changed at the back so I would have though something like the bearings would have been reported to me.

The torque converter is something I’ve just read as being a culprit for the shaking when driving but could that also be causing the vibrations when stationary?

I’m waiting on a quote to flush the box but given that it seems to be having a few issues I’m not sure if it’s worth even spending any money on the box.

Does anyone have any recommendations or even just an estimate on the torque converter?

I really do like my jeep and if I could get another year before upgrading it would make my life easier. Hoping to move to a newer shape but need them to come down a bit more first.

It’s Diesel 3.0 TD6.

Had a quote of £457 to change the oil and filter on the gearbox.

I’ve also been told to try Landy Man in St Helens which isn’t too far away.

It’s going for diagnostics again, no fault codes though and different garages have plugged it in.

I might get someone local to check the injectors and see what they say but failing that it’s “specialists” and there’s 2 within 30 miles from me.

Mathew, sudden memory flash, there were issues with injector wiring looms on the TD6, you may be lucky as I believe they are very cheap and simple to change. (Wheeler Dealers TD6)

If we keeping working backwards in order of magnitude you may just end needing a wiper blade:D:D

That's very nice of you to tell us BUT what about your Range Rover, that you are having issues with?
As the guys said above I had a bit of a runaround with a judder in the Golden Girl.Problem being the injector failed at the same time as the gearbox started playing up.So it was being hidden , until gearbox was fixed and for a while gearbox was still being blamed. So I would recommend do a reverse problem hunt from mine. Do your injectors first, then gearbox.

The injector wiring loom is a problem as already mentioned but you could do with decent diagnostics and live data which is how I established the loom on the one I’m working on was the problem
It runs just under the top engine cover and just touching the loom would cause the engine to cough.
I had injector 3 fault on diagnostics but it was just the loom
It would really judder just trying to creep forwards or in reverse
Diagnostics and live data will tell you what is going on with engine and potentially TC

My experience is very similar, my main issue was a judder exactly as the TC locked up,
Around 53 mph it would judder
I was convinced it was the gearbox until I listened to gold rover
Mine also Juddered and shook in reverse, very difficult to reverse park without shaking out your fillings
Do your wallet a massive favour and assume it's the cheaper option before condemning the gearbox or TC
I bought some used but tested injectors from a guy in Gloucester for £50 each,
Totally judder free now, best £300 I ever spent
