my 1972 109'' series 3 is confusing me a bit, it seems to have a 1 ton chassis but the chassis number screwed to the bulkhead is 91601504 B. if it was a 1 ton, i have been told by a reliable source that it would start with 226... (or something along those lines, pubs can distort my memory a bit) if anyone can help me with this please let me know. i would also be interested in knowing any information about this vehicle or 1959 88'' series 2 141900044. thanks

Land Rover FAQ - History, Production, Sales - Chassis Numbering

325-339 = Series IIB (110 Inch Forward Control)
340-354 = Series IIA 109"
5424 = Series IIA 88 Station Wagon (US Model) 259,

1959 88'' series 2 141900044. thanks

for this vehicle i'd strongly suggest you join the Series2 forum, you'll find rivet counters there that will be able to supply most of the answers you require

the '58/'59 Series 2 has quite a lot of year specific details as they were still being developed

so go and introduce yourself and start a thread with some decent pictures showing what you have

i'm not too far away from you (birmingham) and a member of the S2 Club, unfortunately you have just missed our monthly meeting at the Burnt Post in Coventry (last night) but the next meeting is on the 20th of December (7.30-8pm) if you want to call in, we will have two or three members there that are VERY knowledgable about the '58/'59 S2's who you will be able to question, if the vehicle is on the road bring it along and get them to look it over you could get quite an education

for the 1ton i'd suggest you log onto this site 900club.org • Index page
and this chap (dan) 22900013A should be able to offer quite a bit of knowledge as these seem to be his passion
