Hi there, i wonder if anyone can help? Suddenly out of no where today, my indicators and hazard lights are staying on solidly rather than flashing? Does anyone know what this could be please ive changed all the fuses for indicators and hazards and they still flash when i lock the car? Thank you :)

I don't know much about how the indicators work, but sounds like a relay has got stuck on to me.

When a bulb goes, they flash very rapidly, so I don't suppose its that - but its an easy check!

I'm sure someone may be able to help, but if you are stuck, the Rave workshop manual may provide more information. It has descriptions of the electrical systems and full circuit diagrams etc. There's info on downloading it here...

Thanks for your reply, i'll take a look...The bulbs work ok as they stay on solidly and then also flash when i lock the car....its weird as i've never seen it before on any car...I'm manually flashing it on and off at the moment when i'm turning! lol

Pull the flasher relay. Extreme right hand side relay in drivers right knee cubby hole. Pop the case off and have a look. Sounds welded up or stuck. Either free the relay or replace it. If lights work it is unlikely to be caused by a short circuit or overheating. Just worn out....one flash too many!!!!

Thank you so much! i did as you said, pulled it out, cleaned all the metal bits, put it back in a voila! Really appreciated thank you x

Good news. Cleaning the metal bits you can see is unlikely to have solved it. Taking it out and putting it back may have freed a stuck contact. Internal contact cleaning would help if you feel up to taking it apart otherwise leave it until it fails again and get a new one!!
