Freelander 2 (LR2) Indicator not working

Hi all,
I’m new here so perhaps I won’t be using the correct terminology- I have an issue in that my rear left indicator isn’t working. They’ve tried changing the bulbs and it’s not working. It’s been in the garage all day (specialist 4x4 garage) and they can’t fix it.
When a trailer is attached the trailer lights work. The car seems to know it’s not indicating as the sound is different- it clicks at double speed. The right indicator works. They’ve tried resetting the software apparently and that doesn’t work they said they would check the wiring and earth (I presume this has been checked now). Any ideas?

It could be a wiring fault.
It doesn't need to go to a dedicated 4x4 specialist if that is an expensive option, as the electrical system is just a standard Ford system, so any auto electrician should be able to check the wiring.

What codes are coming up? If there's a wiring fault, there should be an open circuit code generated.

Alternatively it could be a fault with the CJB (body control module), but you'll need to eliminate the wiring first.

Thank you for replying. They still have the car. I’m hoping they will call me today with good news. It’s hard to know exactly what they’ve tried as I’m no specialist so I just rely on them doing a good job but having taken the car there for 4 years I’m surprised they can’t fix it.
I will call them later if they don’t drop me a call and ask exactly what they have tried and if any faults are noted.

Looking at the wiring diagram from https://pdfcookie.com/documents/land-rover-freelander-2-x20gp9958wl3
page 77 shows the cjb with internal power switch for each indicator, one cable out of cjb to rear left light on page 79

invest in a multimeter,
it could be something as simple as the replacement bulb was also faulty,
it seems that your 4x4 mechanic is taking the pee,the wiring and earths are the second,not the last things to test after trying a new bulb.there aint much else to go wrong if only one winker is out

Unless the CJB output has failed.

Swap the bulb units over and see if it works then

Not sure of the FL2 bulb holder arrangement but my FL1 had a brake light out today so I just presumed bulb. I changed it for a new one but nothing, so I tested both bulbs on a spare battery & they were fine I then put the bulb in its holder & connected that direct to my battery & whilst the 5w part of the bulb, taillight, illuminated the 21w brake light didn't so it was just down to a break inside the holder. It all looks perfect no corrosion etc (luckily I had a spare holder). So just check your indicator bulb holder for voltage & go from there.
