Hi al and merry xmas.. i have a small prob(i hope) with my indicator lights, they come on after i am parked up sometimes hours after for no reason(that i can see).. the alarm dose not go off(but it dose work). i had a new battery fitted two weeks ago and since then the indicator lights have come on after parking up 3-4 times.they all come on front back and side, dont know why other than may be a short??? Anyone have any ideas??

ok tried to start her,no go. did all the checks had to get AA out. he did the same checks was here an hour or so all relays ok fuses ok. worked out its one of 2 things ....the inmobiliser??? yes over an hour to say what i told him my gess was from the start.Or both coils?? behind the engine that he could not get to.. she crancks over but no spark...o yes left it an hour went back and the dam indicators were on again....HELP dont want have to take it to LR..

Sounds like you have a problem with the BECM which has now lost synch with the engine ECU. Or could still be the fuse/relay box, look for any sign of heating on relay/fuse connections. Could also be the printed circuit board under the relays/fuses. Or could be corroded connections at the battery, BECM etc. Whatever you need Faultmate to read the faults and re-synch now methinks. Smarter peeps will be along with more ideas.

thanks ,it may be the becm however the AA guy did have a faultmate with him(they asked the model so to send out the right guy) no faults showed up. also all relays taken out and fully checked. would a inmobiliser fault so?

Given the problem with the lights, it still sounds like dodgy connections somewhere to me, check the connector to the BECM, check the wiring from the BECM. Do you not get a message to say engine immobilsed on the mesage centre? In fact check all the connections to battery, earths etc.

AA man with Faultmate may not know how to use it, but if you have no fault codes did he not try to re-sync the engine and the BECM to re mobilise it?

There are others who know a lot more about this sort of thing than me, so maybe after they have sobered up from the Christmas excess you may get some better answers:rolleyes:

When the AA guy use faultmate ,yes he had the key fully in and turned, however all he did was check for faults there were none so he unpluged it...no codes showed up. ps the indicator lights comeon every hour or so,is there a rely i can pull to stop this..

there is nothing in the fuse box under the bonet i have just had a look. only other place for fuses is side of seat as you know, i will have a look for them in a min.
