Hi all,
More love from my P38 :)

P38, 2.5 dse, older ally manifold engine. V reg

Car was getting harder and harder to start then just stopped. Sounded like no fuel getting through. Now for fault finding fun!
Put clear pipe between filter & FIP. Fitted new fuel filter (just in case).
Fully charged battery.
Nope no fuel coming through.
Luckily I'd been charged for a replacement fuel pump 2 years ago ( not really sure on MTBF of pumps [but 2 years?] so the jury is still out on whether the clowns that replaced the old pump or just charged me for it as no concrete proof either way) but I knew the floor had been cut.
Ignition primed, no noise from pump.
New pump ordered & delivered fitted.

PS. Don't forget to make sure the pump comes with new olives, nuts and rubber tank collar. Tad frustrating when you find that it doesn't come as a complete kit, nor does the seller mention it until you ask after delivery! Ie "but you didn't ask for it mate". Fair point and lesson learned haha.

Turned ignition and fuel now flowing through test pipe. Cycled the glow plugs and voila! She fired up. Feels much stronger now and fires up first turn no more struggling to start.

Now I just have to set the static timing. Still on "to do" list.
Cheers and Happy New Year to v you all,
Hoppy
