I was checking out part numbers on the interwebby and came across a thread on a forum asking if the pump was available separately, bet it's been asked on here once or several times before too.
The thread wasn't that clear, but part number BOS0580314076 was mentioned, which when I looked for that part number, came up as a BMW part, the photo showed just a pump on here, and as I've already put mine back together again, I can't look to see if it looks like the one in the sender unit. Having said that, the one which was in my unit looked like it had been replaced (badly, the ham-fisted ape that did it had wrecked the plastic casing and it's held together with strategically placed cable ties) so there must be something available.
I'd bought a sender unit off ebay which was the wrong one for my 2001 TD4, and the casings are identical, it even has all the mounts inside for the pump housing, yet they're twice the price of the old combined unit.
