in need of some advice

A friend of mine has offered me his S reg td5 and i am not sure what to do.
He's looked after the car but its got 170k and thats what putting me off it i know there's a few disco 2 owners on here any advice would be welcome

it has got 11 months mot on it also passed just before christmas

Price, MOT? Give us a clue...

Just bought mine recently on 143k. Drives perfect. I figure if its been look after well then most of the problem areas will be on round 2 as they've already been dealt with once!

All depends on how it's been treated.

i wont say price but it is MOTed passed with 1 advisory brake pipe rusty. its only been used to take his kids to and from school. hasnt had a hard life just the milage is putting me right off it

Average 12000 mpa.if the price is right then buy it. if stupid high leave it regardless of mileage.there are plenty out there with more miles than that.if its a daily plodder i wouldnt worry .most bits that needed replacing would have been done.

i would go with how well its been serviced and maintained over mileage

Thanks chaps he's looked after it he is a little grease monkey. I was just worried about the milage well i best phone the insurance tomorrow and see how much its gone up haha

one more thing to ask i noticed today on here that some disco 2's dont have diff lock will this but i will check tomorrow but just wouldnt mind if you lads know its its only a S reg

It will have the CDL in the transfer box, but no lever to activate it.

I just fitted a CDL kit to an S reg Disco, the cut of point for the cdl internals was mid 2001.

You need to ahve a feel up on top of the front out put housing above where the front prop shaft comes out, for the cdl spigot.



Thats what it looks like. ^^^^^

( forget the bracket thing and cable, you wont have that, just feel for the 3 bolts and the spigot sticking out the middle )
