Scenario.
Changing door cards on a 03 freelander.
Purchsed 04 door cards, together with opening latches and wire to door locks.
All goes fine aprt from the left rear.

I remove the latch by drilling out the rivets, and was about to remove the lock so i can feed the new wire in it when the door closes, the old wire falls off and now i cannot open the door, just for info the solenoid is bust so you can only open the door from the inside when locked, how the hell can o open the door??apart from blindly trying to feed the wire into the lock with it in place any other ideas.

Im so pee'd off right now i could :fighting: the bloody thing.

Tks

Sorry dude but I have to ask...what exactly do you mean by 'card?' (I own a 99'er so this may not pertain to my model) My dumb question aside, I'm sure the countless mega-experienced freelandites on this site'll come to your aid!

Yeah door card is an old term i mean the door trim. The interior part that covers the inside of the door.

Not attached but i guess i can fit that again, however what would this do? Dont forget the cable wire is no longer attached and i cant open from thae outside.

Im gonna try blindly inserting the wire into the pull again how i have no idea, breaking the lock isnt an option really. ill see how it goes.

Had a lock go screwy on a Octavia ended up prizing the door card off with the door shut and locked then spend a whole day disassembling the lock though very small holes while the still shut bloody hard work with lock smashed it finally released the door then had to source another lock from fleabay

I know how they work, the problem is someone at landy used the borrowers to assemble the doors and you have to have hands of a 3 yr old to get to the mechanism and re attached the cable hook inside it. all doing this blindly. this is the only way i can think of without using a blow torch, dynamite c4, mini gun or mil hind d gunship.
all other doors where a doodle to be honest it's just this one closed while in mid assembly.

Managed :) , logged into the obd and entered the freelander security system, download new fail safe software overide previous system, choose any 5 digit passcode, then unlock all doors.

Or

remove the outer handle which is a bugger, remover all skin from knuckles, once the handle is off you can fiddle around and get the door opened.

Thanks again for all your help guys.
