Impressive Performance

Yesterday, drove from sunny Dorzettt to Hastings to pick up a Disco.

Picked up a hooooge trailer to stick it on, filled up with gas and set off. Did a round trip of 370 miles, half of which was dragging well over 2 tons and averaged 15.2 mpg. (accordin to the on board puter)

Now based on the cost of the gas thats an equavalent average of 27.7mpg petrol cost.

Pretty impressive for a 4.6 V8 engine. Bet there aren't many vehicles out there that could have done the journey for less...............................................................

Yup, even stopped at Fleet services for a coffee - both ways

oh, an a jump start on the way there cause me neg battery lead had come loose and weren't chargin properly

I did a similar but a bit shorter trip last week. 200 mile round trip with empty trailer on the way there and with a disco on it on the way back. Averaged 30mpg over the tankful which included the normal running about going to work etc as well as the trip with the trailer. I was fully expecting the old mpg to be battered but it was surprisingly ok. btw the two discos and the trailer weighed 4800kg al up. My disco and the trailer empty comes in at a smidge under 2800kg, had it on the weighbridge at the scrapper this morning.

Am drivin past yur hoose agin on May 5th. If yu can persuade er indoors to put it in the hippo , I'll bring it down.
