Thinking of importing my LHD LR3 to UK from Dubai. Appreciate your thoughts on this. Have done 38 K Km, 2008. Value here in Dubai if sold equal
20 K GBP

Comments?

Sell it in Dubai.

You'll need a C.O.C and new MOT in the UK, the cost of shipping and (I may be wrong here) you will have to pay VAT. Plus its gonna be difficult to sell in the uk. Get rid and buy a RHD in blighty.

Probably should have added that I can bring it back for less than 1 K GBP and no VAT is due its been owned by me for three years -

I was look more for answer suggesting LPG conversion etc. the actual cost of running petrol at 17 mpg vs probably .. what 30 mpg with a diesel at 15K miles per year is about 2 K GBP - what will it cost me to buy a similar LR# in UK ????

Ryder you should go and play in the sand...

Hi Dubai

Your vehicle will need a couple of UK modifications, namely a MPH speedometer conversion and headlight adjustments.

It will then need a VOSA IVA test as a coc (certificate of conformity) does not exist for this vehcle as it is not Euro Market spec. It will also need an MOT if 3 years old or more.

Once the VOSA IVA test and MOT are complete it can then be registered with the DVLA.

We would be happy tp provide a quote for these services if you wish: [email protected].

As you have mentioned that you have owned the vehicle for more than 6 months, I will also presumed you have lived in dubai for 12 months - this means it qualifies as a personal import therefore you will not have to pay import duty.

On the Gas conversion side a LR3 from Dubai recently came into us for UK mods and VOSA testing. The customer researched where to send for a Gas coversion and he decided upon a company called 4 Tech. The customer was very pleased with the work done.

I hope this helps.
