Costing a small fortune I just want some advice as to whether to go ahead with this ignition upgrade?

Shes running well, drinks like a fish, & im told this might save fuel with new upgrade :

1) New high quality brand new re-manufactured Dizzy.
(Including a bespoke A&R ignition power amp.)
2) magencor 8.00mm plug leads.
3) V8 NGK BP6ES spark plugs.
4) lucas Ignition Coil.
All fitted etc.

Are you running on LPG?
And I guess you have been looking ath thr RPI site....
£275 for the remanufactured Lucas dizzy and Advance retard module.......
NO! for THAT kind of money, you may as well fit a ruddy Mega-jolt and have fully programmable contactless iand water-proof ignition.....
And as for the Magna-core leads....... an awful lot of hype for little benefit.
I'm trying to track down an 'affordable' Advance retard module; Iwagima do one, but I cant find a price art the mo, and am told I think its LPG to go do them also.....
If I have any luck, I'll let you know, but the RiP kit is a copmplete rip off; and wont do a huge amount for ecconomy or power, and I VERY much doubt you NEED a recon Dizzy, even if you DO, you can easily recon the Lucas one you have for a few quid and a bit of time. Unless your Ignition amp is totalled, which I doubt.
Back to basics, though, gen dizzy-cap, gen rotor arm, gen (oreferable boshe) coil, is as good as you can hope for, after that addition of advance by retard module as an 'upgrade' OR if you want to go the whole way, Mega-jolt, or if an EFi motor, perhaps ALL the way and a Mega-Squirt.

Just to clarify shes a V8 3.9efi (petrol) ( Having found her engine number weve concluded this is indeed the engine that she was built with). 1988 - But the odd thing is that the engine number/and log book indicates shes a 3.5. So I guess in the past shes had a new head on her.
The main reason why I contemplated this ingition UPG is economy. But getting a nice new ECU would do a better job methinks?

Oh looking at this new ignition system..It does away with the dizzy altogether. And replaces it with a Module that works in conjunction with a Series of sensors and a "Trigger Wheel" Mod attached to the crank flywheel. Nice price & a local installer too hehe thanks!

What you found there?
123 Ignitions?
Thing about the mega-jolt / squirt is its duel mappable, so you can switch advance curves when you flick to LPG, like an advance by retard unit, only infinitely more variable.
Only the price putting me off at the mo!
