Starting and ignition woes

@Ratae yes it certainly does. Repeatedly, too. I need to change the leads and check the timing now, then have a run out to see how it's going. Before all this it was decidedly less than perky so I hope this will sort that out too.

@Cappo , was this a faulty power amp module or an incorrect wiring instruction / install? I ask as there's always much discussion on the v8forum.co.uk re' amp modules and some further good info' on RPi's website.

@v8250, I’m pretty sure it was the amp, I can’t confirm 100% but before I changed that I did a lot of wiggling of all the LT cables and nothing changed. Not conclusive of course, but that’s my gut feel.

Good news - the amp modules cause much havoc in many RV8/TVRV8 applications...
 
Well, today I finished the job off by replacing the plugs and HT leads, checking the timing, and I soldered and heat-shrunk the temporary joints on the amp to distributor cables, and took it for a run. What a difference! It runs *much* better, much more perky, more responsive, quicker, just better all round

On the slight downside it has now thrown a little exhaust manifold leak at me (where the manifold joins the downpipe) so while that's a pain to fix (if it won't nip up) at least it's not a brain challenge!
