Dear old 97 HSE decided to immobilise engine for no apparent reason did not give a warning message see prev thread 'effing thing will not start'. The AA man spent 2 hours checking everything but in the end left scratching his head ended up getting my landey man round on a bank holiday with his 'putner and he eventually fixed it but not before he thought the BECM was knacked. Still don't know what caused it. Anyway if i lock it with just the key and not the blipper will this still activate the immobilisher and alarm?? Seems like a good way of preventing this happening again until I can find the cause - hope this makes sense.

you need the modified alarm reciver as it is picking up rouge rf signals this is causing the alarm and the becm to look for you with your key after a number of times the ecu and the remote are out of sync the alarm thinks the car is being stolen thus the imobiliser locks resync of the engine ecu fixs it but it will happen agin untill you replace the reciver
