Hey all,

2005 TD4, 122k on clock.

I've been having a problem for a couple of years - the yellow engine management light coming on at 3000 rpm or thereabouts. At my wit's end with that one and must have changed nearly everything except the turbo, which has been cleaned. Anyway, car works if badly.

New problem(s)

1. Turn key in ignition, engine attempts to start. Second turn - lights on dashboard are all lit, but no attempt to turn starter motor. Leave and come back an hour or two later, same again, first turn works, subsequent turns don't.

2. Second problem, when it does turn, the engine won't start. White smoke, doesn't "catch". Fuel pump, fuel filters and injectors have all been replaced.

Any ideas? Are they related? Does the immobiliser allow the engine to turn but not start?

Get a p code reader on it to see error codes. May need to clear them first, then try starting it then see what comes up in the codes.
