Immobiliser key fob sync

Hi,

When I bought my Defender last month I got 2 fobs for the immobiliser with it. One of them is sync'd and works fine, however, the other one looks to have a dead battery for some time and is now out of sync with the vehicle.

Just wondered if anyone had details of how to re-sync a key fob with the immobiliser in this situation. The handbook details how to change the battery on a fob but not how to re-sync one. Any help would be appreciated,

Some have reported several presses of the unlock button to have worked. For us it was a trip to a man with a computer to reprogram the ECU (or BCM etc) to accept the fob.

If you pm me with your email address I can send you a scan of the relevant page from the handbook for a 2012 defender. You will need to know the key code number to reset it.

I can sync fobs on TD5s with my Nanocom.

Along the same lines, the fronts door locking mechanism and rear door locking mechanism on my TD5 90 are out of sync - i.e. When all doors are unlocked and I press the lock button the front doors lock and the rear door doesn't. I have to do it manually. and then Visa versa. Any ideas / help? The rear locking mechanism does work, just completely out of sync with the front doors.

Do you mean that when you lock the front doors the rear remains unlocked and when you unlock the front it locks the rear? If so, it sounds more like the wiring to the rear lock solenoid is at fault.

Looks like it isn't something that is easily done from what I have found. As it is essentially the same as pairing a new fob you have to go through that process, using a nanocom looks like a viable way of doing it but I don't believe (from my googling) there is a way of doing it using a similar method to changing the battery

Not sure if the Hawkeye can also do fob pairing. Know for sure the Nanocom can as I've done it on mine. Maybe somebody near you with a Nanocom could do it for beer money?
