Hi all, new to me problem this morning, unlocked the motor this morning to solve a windscreen wiper problem . Started car no problem and lowered motor so that I could reach everything. repaired problem and went to start car. Engine immobilised press remote message came up. now fob is not doing anything at all. central locking is working fie with key/ I have tried search, but every thread seems to wander off subject. Any help would be appreciated

I dont believe whats just happened, went outside to lock gates ,thought I would give it 1 more go and it started no message, nothing. locking and unlocking on fob . i just dont understand.

unless your fob battery is due for a change. Cheap test to get another. Could just be a glitch! But glitches are no good with a car full of people at the side of the road...
have you ever changed the battery in your ownership?

Yes I have changed the main battery and the fob batteries I have had the car 2.5 years and had few problems .This is out of the blue

Did you take the battery off while working on the wiper issue? Maybe it though someone was trying to tamper and immobilised itself. Also, have you got passive immobilisation set on? Can check with Nanocom. I switched mine off.

If the key doesn't go in the ignition within a certain period of time after opening the car then it reimmobilises itself. I suspect it might do it in other circumstances with low battery or fiddling with the battery too.

Apparently it was switched off for NAS at the factory.

that could be it ,i did switch the ignition on and off a few times and unlocked the car and did not start it for a while .thanks for that info

Can be switched off in BECM.

I just got a new receiver thing for unlocking car supposed to stop stray rf signals upsetting BECM
Do I just fit it or do I need to code it for the car?
