After selling my bike I decided that I would throw a few quid at the Landy, so here's a couple of before and after piccy's, coz I know you like piccy's, and while I'm sure it's not to everyones taste, I like it:p, and as I did it all myself, like the title says, I'm quite pleased with myself.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

verry nice landy grimmer exept for the poppy on the grille but that might just be me being brought up on the basis tought to me by my grandad that its a fookin insult to any veteran served in ww2 when compared with the recognition that soldiers get today and all he has to remember his brothers in arms by is a friggin little red paper flower

Langers, the snorkel is the Mantec one, got it from Paddocks, Johnny I wouldn't have said the Poppy is an insult to anyone, speaking as Ex-forces, with a brother in-law who is serving, as far as i am concerned it is to remember all members of our armed forces who are no longer with us.

Isn't the poppy actually to remember soldiers from all wars since WW1? Does not the sale of poppies generate revenue for The Royal British Legion?
 
Not sure you got the right end of the story there about the poppies jc1, they allow us to show our appreciation for any member of the armed forces who has died in combat since WW1 and to donate money to the BL.

As for the Landy, looks sweet Grimmer :D
 
no im here i just made the comment bout the poppy because i listen to my 90 yr old grandad who was called up during ww2 and was captured twice first by the germans and got away during a pow camp transfer shortly after watching atleast 2 dozen of his mates and comrades either killed or tortured to death he then got back home only to be reassigned and then cought by the japs who were worse than the germans they basicaly worked him into the ground he watched as his mates were tortured and killed also beaten to death and experimented on with various poisons and torture methods he survived and was rescued along with 50 others at the end of the war and came home broke battered mentaly unhinged to what no councelling on the homeless list all his mates gone no compensation nor thanks for his efforts no medals nothing the only thing he gained from that whole episode was the gut determination he gained to survive and all he has left now is bitter memories of evrything that happened signified by the poppy now me grandad is just one how many others are out there that feel the same way i can assure anyone reading this that im not against the poppy appeal im just saying that nowadays its a real heartwarming and worthwile cause totaly different to what it wa back then wich i can only imagine those kinds of experiences so long ago must have been fukkin awful to say the least

No offence taken mate and i understand how your Grandad must have felt. The Help for Heros idea is purely based on the general public taking their feelings to the mass's, unfortunately during the 2nd world war, not just the forces were under great strain, civvies had to rebuild most of the country as well.
We live in a time where our homeland is pretty safe compared to how this country was during WWII especially, we have the ' luxury ' of expressing our appreciation for what the forces are doing without worrying about rebuilding our homes, our economy etc.
Your grandad sounds like a man who deserves respect, he has mine for sure, the same as anyone else who gives their time and life to the forces.
