Got a clean 96 3.9 es auto and get about 12 to 16 MPG towing large caravan.

Auto is nice but only drops into top gear when over 52 MPH so MPG drops when towing below 52. fantastic for towing on motorways.

Great for showing boy racers what power really is.

have not got LPG yet but seriously considering it.

Think I only get 10 to 12 MPG around town even driving gently.

Hi John, just got back after staying over at my kid sister's after viewing the Disco yesterday.
It has had a brand new Turners Engineering Short Motor fitted.Had it over a pit and totally checked it out (im a qualified mechanic),i checked everything and ther are no leaks anywhere, and it is solid underneath.Engine and gearbox are perfect and everything works. No rattles or noises at all from engine, gearbox, diffs or transferbox. It has full service history with every old MOT and every receipt for all work that has been carried out on it from new....Thats the good bits.
Now for the bad bits lol....there is a dent in the front edge of bonnet above n/s headlight,a scuff on n/s/f bumper corner and the o/s/r corner panel below the light cluster has a rather large dent in it...We agrred a price for the car but he could not guarantee the bodywork would be sorted for me collecting the car next wednesday so i asked how much if i took it with the dents and i would sort them out myself. He knocked £500 off the price of the car so i snapped his hand off. Will cost me £60 for paint and materials and my labour is free lol. So im well happy and im also getting a full tank of gas and a full tank of petrol.

ROLL ON NEXT WEDNESDAY... just got to think of a name for her as i have DiscoDebs already and this will be her younger sultry, sophisticated younger sister :)

Viewed it...........liked it...........drove it..............BOUGHT IT..

picking her up on wednesday...can't wait

Enjoy (ya jammy get;)), if you can afford to run her then I'm sure most member's on ere will be pig sick:D as the V8's are the next best thing to free sex;), I tried to blag the Mrs. into letting buying one last week, she bought a sodding Corsa instead:( ... might just swap the TDi for the one I've spotted ...

My Mrs only allowed me to get it to stop me buying another motorbike...she reckons coz i've had to spinal reconstruction operations and nerve repair so my right leg works...a bike is too risky...So i've bought the car i want in the colour and spec i want and 15mpg is ok by me...and im keeping my 2.0 mpi as a spare

I've not ridden bikes since I had kids (10yrs ago), don't wanna orphan them as a lot of my mate's have perished :(, I still have a really bad urge to get a bike, but Mr Sensible in me tell's me the Disco is a decent compromise as it's not just a box on wheel's...

I only said yes to buying the Disco as my mrs sed it was really nice and she never gives an opinion on a car coz she not interested in them.....and apart from that...I REALLY WANTED IT LOL

In that case you've had her blessing/acceptance, accept her approval and enjoy the V8 guilt free:D ... yer still a jammy get:p

Im gonna have to buy a set of side steps as it hasn't got any fitted as my better half is not very tall and struggles to get in

Despite your model Disco being a bit more resistant to rust than my earlier 300TDi Be warned they are a major rust trap and dont help the sill's when it come's to trapping dirt, I removed mine a few weeks ago as despite my wife/kids needing them to access the Disco they were IMO more troublesome in the long run.

My wife /kids don't agree though:doh:, just make sure if you do fit some, that you check under the step's & the the sill's for corrosion on a regular basis.

Im gonna underseal the underside and stonechip and waxoyl the inner sills before i put the side steps on...my 2.0 mpi is a 300 series and trust me i know what rust is....im gonna restore it to its former glory and chop out all the rust and weld all new panels in.

i really need the side steps as it is embarrassing getting a set of step ladders out everytime my mrs wants to get in the car lol
