Hi me again. My 2nd key fob needed a new battery, so I followed the procedure and fitted a new duracell 2016 battery. I wore a pair of surgical gloves when I did it so as not to infect any thing with my fingers.

The remote actions work ie I can press to lock , press to unlock, etc but when I put the key into the ignition it won't turn at all. What's wrong now ?

Did you make sure when opening up the fob to change the battery that a small piece of black plastic hasn't fallen out of the case ?

As this small triangular shape of plastic is the transponder coil, without it you won't be able to turn the key or start the car !

It usually sits next to the key blade where it goes into the casing

YES there was a little bit of plastiic fell out of the fob. I thought it had broken off the side or something. Luckily I saved it, where does it go ?

Can you show me a diagram at all please. Oh I am so grateful to you for this information. I was beginning to despare.

That's great you kept the part !

A lot of other people have made the same mistake too before

It basically sits in a shaped slot at the top of the inside of the key casing where the metal key shaft meets the plastic casing

Basically as long as it's inside the case at the key blade end it should work

Hope that helps

Many thanks 2.0 hippo.Pretty sure it sits under the circuit board in the button sided face of the casing not the back removable face.

It does fit under the circuit board in the top left hand corner. SORTED thanks to you. Your a gem.
