Hi All

I'm an idiot.

My door handle on a rear passenger door packed in, and in a fit of stupidity decided that the child lock was the problem.

I opened the door from the inside, activated the child lock then shut the door - realising just as it shut how stupid I was.

Short of ripping off the door card, or causing major damage is there anyway I can get the door open to sort out the child lock issue, then in turn the door handle/button.

As I said.....I'm an idiot....

Cheers

Do you mean the inside handle or outside handle (i'm assuming outside handle, hence why child lock is now causing the problem.....)

I think, you should be able to get the card off ok, if the rear door is similar layout to front door, theres just one clip where you push the middle section through, and then the rest should just pull out (once grab handle, window turner and any other items are off)

Another thing to try first though is spray some wd40 through the keyhole - i had an issue with my front door not opening, did that and could open it and remove door card - although i'd already thought that doorcard may be removeable without door being open.

I have nothing useful to add,

but sure am PMSL now

its the kind of stupid thing i would do, its just good to know im not the only nob'ed out there.

Good luck getting it sorted

Ah bad luck. Not having a 110 I don't know where or how the childlock catch works, but would it be possible to pull the bezel from the inside door lock off and perhaps stick something down it to hook/push the childlock off?

Thanks all.....Finally got round to reading the forum and looking at your answers.

I managed to switch the child lock back off simply by getting in the back and could see the little switch on the door just tucked in the door recess. I was able to get a small screwdriver in there and then open the door from the inside normally.

From there, it was easy to get the door card off and effect a temporary repair to the linkage using a small cable tie as a small plastic cap on the link had worn to the point of not holding the link.

Many thanks for the replies, and its good to know I'm not the only one who has brain farts from time to time!

Cheers all....
