Hey Folks,
Does anyone have an idea or know exactly what the ideal timing curve should be for the 5MB engine?
I am using a 123 electronic ignition
currently 26deg maximum advance at 4500 rpm (17/20/23/26deg)
Which is curve F

I think you will find the orginal with the mechnical advance was pretty much a staircase with 2 (slighlty slopeing) steps.Anyhtig will be better than that. Bearing in mind how low it revs theres no point in going for a curve that tops out at 10k.

Didn’t they copy it for the big one at Blackpool.
Lots of chain clanking followed by a long scream and unrepeatable expletives.
They just couldn’t replicate the smoke and sparks before everything came to a sudden stop and the wing mirrors fell off.
