A new problem occurred on my disco today which was, it wouldn't turn off turned the key off and took it out and it carried in running so I stalled it but ignition lights were still on put the key back in switched it on and off a few times and took it back out but lights still stayed on. Went through a few big puddles today and was wondering whether this could of caused damage to something or whether its just coincidence. Another thing is you can hear a noise from the fusebox area that's sounds like something's crackling like electrical fire if that makes sense. Please help lol

Should try posting it in the 300tdi engine section im a v8 man, depends how big a puddle we are talking about? Over the bonnet size puddle or just a road puddle lol? From a guess id figure , when you turn the key it will trigger a relay that causes dash lights to come on and that the relay is getting stuck, so will either need WD-40 or replacing. (This is only guess work) and for the crackling from fuse box area, is there any burning smell etc? at a guess id say its got some moisture in the area and could be shorting out, which may also cause the problem of ignition staying on , good luck mate
