Ignition Ecu Programing

Hi All,
Can anyone tell me if i replace the engine / ignition ecu on my 2000 4.6 if i need to get it reprogramed to the car if if they are just plug and play???

Mines not firing on 1, and 6, opened it up and lots of melted plastic.

Yes, you would have to get it 'synched' to the BeCM. IrishRover does them amongst others.

Has it been converted to gas check all the connections so it does not do it again

yes it has been put on gas.. well was before i brought it, the tank has now been disconnected in the boot for some reason... why do you think this could have been the cause of the ecu burn out? if so what should i be looking for.. was going to tyake the car to a local lpg specialist once i had got her running right.
