Beware of a green discovery jacked up on 33's or 35 inch tyres. blacked out windows 5 door. with a gang of young lads in. the car has a black roof rack, ring spot lights and a yellow 8ft whip cb aerial appearing round your landy. the car seems to be fitted with a large winch. i caught the car circling outside my house mid day 2 weeks back my lane isnt the kind of lane you'd drive down little one track county lane. i was sat in the front room taking apart an old wardrobe when the car stopped one lad jumped out early 20's wearing a blue hoodie and black tracksuit bottoms and walked up to the window of the defender looking through, next thing he knew was me running out the front door with a crow bar to **** the ****, if i would have got within 3ft of him he would have been dead. the disco is missing the rear reg plate as i chased them up the lane. SUFFICE TO SAY my car is now monitored by cctv and im thinking of fitting a wireless cctv camera into it so i can see from inside the car exactly who is round it!. i had my last defender go missing on the 24/11/2008. so im bloody paranoid over my landy.

cheers Dave. keep an eye on those beloved landys round xmas when the scum are looking for easy money! dont let it be found in your landy!!!:(

dave.

pleased you scared em off, bet they moved quick when they saw u with a crow bar, but its scary there doin it mid day like there not scared of anyone, and dnt think ppl will interrupt them/ or are 2 scared too.

pleased you got rid of them did you get the plate

noope i didnt get the plate. hope ive scared them off but theyre quite persistant and defenders and offroaded up lanys are getting nicked by the dozen round me at the moment. a brandnew one got lifted a week back, god knows how it was alarmed and imobilised aswell as in gear with the handbreak on!!!

round ormkirk to merseyside area, possibly greater incidents involving this car have been reported upto 40miles.

Got a feeling I have seen that Disco in the Tesco garage, Cronton Lane, Huyton, L'pool, with a few young lads on board a while back. It stood out like a sore thumb as the lads (late teens, early 20's) looked remedial.

lock your landy up seriously, my last one was found in bits in a lock up in kirby with the renting person aparantly moved out and untracable!!!! somehow i have thoughts that they may have fitted that winch for no-good i keep hearing loud engines out side my home at odd hours of the morning so now im hardly sleeping, sometimes makes you wonder if its worth the hastle! if i see that car again ill make sure its not going to drive ill slash its bastard tyres all 4 of them and cut its brakelines with a pair of side snips.

i am wanting to join the merseyside landrover owners club, but im unsure if any of that group's members may be interconnected to people that make them go missing. im very carefull what i post on this forum or others, theres bound to be scumbags lurking on here who's main goal is to source lannys to steal.

the scouse landrover owners club are a good set o lads who do care about other owners. they are gonna love you joining if ya think half of em are thieves:doh:

If you have a Defender and live in the Merseyside / West Lancs area, lock it up and then go out and lock it up some more. Do anything to slow them down. My Landy was gone for only two weeks but they have had new plates on it, resprayed it and have changed anything not welded on (and even then they had a go!). The scum who had mine are not chancers, they knew what they were doing. They obviously have the tools, parts and facilities to work on ringing Landrovers so please secure your car as much as possible!

The car was recovered around Kirkby, suprise, suprise.

hi, did the green disco have a snorkel fitted? cause i saw 1 in Blackpool today, not seen it around here b4

Hi lads and lasses. I'm getting a bit paranoid about all these bloody thefts of Landy's recently. So when i was paranoid about my little girl waking and stirring at night we bought a baby monitor.

Same thing with my landy now! If i hear any noise then i'll be out light a shot! I'll definately be keeping an eye out for that Disco though!

Pughy.
