as a previous customer of mine can vouch for. He ended up with twice the hassle when the rust did get worse as it was caked with that stuff and was bubbling away nicely still underneath, no short cuts when it comes to combatting rust. Take your time and do it properly, replace in places is better than repair.
Thanks for your kind words lightening, I’m hoping it’ll last until next year and see me through winter, beginning to see the end of it now this is my 3rd day going now, so far impressed with the fluid film black, it’s quite thick so just left the tub in boiling water seems to spray out ok at 80psi
What were you using for the wand and what compressor did you have to run it? I am trying to do this to mine currently but my compressor (8bar) was struggling with a 0.5m hose let alone 2m even with the the dinitrol heated to be nice and thin
The undercoating gun is called sealey sg18 which comes as a kit, however I didn’t like the length of the cavity wand ( it’s about 1m ) so I took it off and put a 2.2 meter bit of irrigation pipe instead of the supplied 1m one, brilliant bit of kit. The compressor is just an Aldi one, works great, I changed all of the hoses and connections for the uk spec ones as they were euro fitting, and a long hose that goes round my landy to the compressor itself, 80psi for the outside stuff you can see, and 90psi for the cavity’s as you want it to mist inside box sections, the sealey sg18 comes with a hand spraying wand which was used for all of the outside areas with great results, even though it’s just an oil you can make it look like a top coat
That looks very similar to the cheap version I have shown on my thread complaining about not being able to get my gun to work (thread link). Does it work by pressuring the can or by the venturi effect of air passing over the top of a pickup tube? If it works I will have to invest in a more expensive version as still have 2/3 of my chassis to do having only done the front as the engine was out.. I am also using an Aldi compressor which has done everything I have ever asked of it even if it is nearly constantly running because the tank is so small.
You are using the wrong sort of gun mate, mine is a proper injection gun where as yours is just the spray type
