Hello Guys & Gals,,

Just a silly question I suppose, but it might give food for thought
to anyone investing time and money into their new purchase..

What would you change and in what order would you change it,
and maybe why would you change it....

Multiple items can be put together if its easier to do both/all at the same time,
but just remember Money is no object..

Cosmetics are also included,
Although the mechanicals are more important at this point in time..

Whilst I don't mind swapping my Fl1for a Fl2 I think that's just a dream :(
The thing I'd love to do is swap the auto box on my V6 for a manual box.
This is something that i'm planning although sadly I need the Freelander's practicality at the moment and for the foreseeable future but it's on my to do list!!

i would get rid of the stupid drive system that seems to let a lot of people down including me in the past, and put something in more reliable, and if i could make the boot bigger ,but then it would be a like a freelander 2 i like the interior in them but do not like the back door i like the f1s back door with the wheel on and the ability to lower the glass when it gets hot, without putting the air conditioning on as it dry's my throat , and i would make them a bit taller with out the need for a lift kit, also i would like a 9 speed auto , so on long runs it would be about 1000 rmp and save a lot of fuel.

I'd like to swap the M47R engine for the N47 - the 177bhp version of course.

An 8-speed manual box is a good idea too - with a big black gear knob showing a 'double H' as in H-H, with 1st gear being left and forward so that 8th would be right and back.

Might also be good to have a high / low ratio selector lever -with a red knob - naturally.

And of course a lever with a yellow knob to switch between 2 or 4 wheel drive.

A forward / reverse lever as in the M-Benz Unimog would be great as that would give 16 forward gears and 16 reverse gears - I think green for that one.

Oh, and Freewheeling Front Hubs would also be handy.

Oops nearly forgot - we need an Overdrive switch too - but only when 'forwards' is selected with the green lever - that now means 32 forward gears and 16 reverse.

That should do it - an unstoppable machine capable of everything except climbing trees - but maybe we could have an optional attachment for that too ......................

The name of this beast needs careful thought to adequately encompass the character of the vehicle - something like the FU-2 perhaps, or 1 UP U.
