Idler Pulley

I can't seem to find info on this or a part from the usual suspects that's correct or listed as for the 4.0.

This shows up to '98: Drive Belt Idler 94-98 ERR6702 Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

EuroCarParts doesn't have any at all!

I got all my pulleys from Island when i did mine.

Parts on my invoice are:

R/H Idler V8 98-02 - PQR500060 £9.79
L/H Idler V8 98-02 - PQR101150 £33.33

Hmm, what about the idler under the tensioner?, in line with the alternator?

Thats the L/H idler pulley.
I went for the metal version as the OEM plastic pulley can disintigrate, a member on here a while back had this happen & it took out the belt & fan.

Quite a price difference!

Yep, but in this case they are better than OEM.

Why can't I find one on eurocarparts? Only because I wanna be able to do it straight away tomorrow if i then get the part.

Cos ECP don't stock every single item on every single make of car...they will only stock fast moving, common items....an idler pulley on a 14 year old car that only a select few choose to drive is not an item they would like clogging up a shelf space!

Oh I get that but it's not even an order in item - they just don't seem to do it. That's a new one on me. Always managed to get parts there for old cars I've been working on.

Have you tried a main dealer, I find they can have parts delivered to their parts department for the next day.

Found a local supplier.. pretty clued up and decent folk, too! A local RR garage!

Hmm, I wonder if you've perhaps gotten these mixed up, price and location wise?

I've just picked mine up, PQR500060. It's metal, weighs a ton (my toes have found out, held the box the wrong way, .5kg) and it was £19 odd. They had another version which was cheaper at £8.something.

Ummmm...thats what i have on my invoice & tally's up with Island website.
The metal pulley's are worth it IMO & certainly cured the noise on mine. The cheaper one is probably the original plastic version.

Got it on, what a difference! The old one is in a pretty poor condition so it looks like I caught it just in time!
