people were whinging before I joined, they were whinging through all the years I Served , were whinging when I left a couple of years ago and as you have shown ,are still whinging You know what they say about if you don't like it.

Yeah, if you're looking for sympathy it is in the dictionary, right between sex and syphilis.

I don't see any Series II on here but as they are the MoD contractor for sale of cast items , their prices show you won't get any cast vehicle for £300  However, there are some nice toys to think of one day getting, or if you have a business that could use it, you might get a bargain.

I brought a 90 because I wanted a toy, then I brought a disco because my other toy wasn't big enough anymore, so then I brought a boat as I wanted a new toy the list is never ending of things I would like to own

Is that for " you've pulled, get in the van" ;)
I was talking to the guy who owns it. They have spent 10 weeks in Morocco in it. They joined up with a bunch of Land Rover guys crossing the Sahara. he was telling me on one stretch he burned through 7 tires in two days. The track was a well used track for Defenders. The Truck being a wider wheel base meant he was outside of the track.

Wow.Some folks get all the fun.

Lovely looking site, very well made, shows all sorts of vehicles. Which would be great for anyone in the southern hemisphere, if there were any actual vehicles available

Don't need much kit down there. No-one can be bothered the invade as it is just hot & empty and what isn't poisonous is venomous or bites. The military just wander about pulling yabbies from billabongs! :)

I get that :) But what's the point of an official disposal site with nothing to dispose of. I know they're affected by the sun but even for Aussies, that's odd ;):p
It's probably some Sgt somewhere, set up the site and if someone registers an interest, sends a Pte to see if there is one knocking about, and sells it to fund his retirement :D The place is so big the Army will just think they mislaid it

I must admit I loved my lightweights or air-portables but only ever "Owned" LWBs in those days when they were still called Land Rovers and not Defenders.
I never had a diesel lightweight tho.
I reckon exMOD stuff is very well looked after and robust as they were soldier proof. Best to get an FFR.
In defence of VMs, the guys I had were superb craftsmen and once upon a time they were given the time to do a good and thorough job. I admit they were more specialised than a civvy mechanic but certainly more skilful
