defenders are much better off-road than freelanders, thats why farmers use them.
freelanders are much better on road, they are more economical, refined and comfy. if driven well they are very capable off-road, that is why normal people drive them.

Are they? A friend has a 55 plate freelander and was saying he was getting about 35mpg. Considering i get about 32 in my defender, I wouldn't really consider that much more economical at all.

Of course his freelander could be broke

Thought as much :

2005 Land Rover Freelander MPG - 4 x 4 (Urban and Combined Fuel Economy, Tank Capacity, Range, etc)

Best fuel economy = 37.2

My defender = 32.

14% improvement. Still not brilliant on the economy scale

ive often been stuck waist deep in water inside mine but I got wet oh well..the challenge is always if someone gets stuck someone has to do it for bragging rights..
