Soz, but you remind me of a Dr of Physics trying to teach a class of eleven year olds about basic electricity.
I lost you at "When yer put in the pop or live command, or wot ever, to setup the strings to read and send enails to the web server, is there a test button?"

You are SO over my head with all this. But I can say that, no, I didn't see a "test" button.
As I said, I have given up on it. I'll pay someone to set it up for me when I get back to blighty.
I'd have to use the other laptop to do screenshots of what it puts up when I try to log on. But that would compromise my personal details on here unless I faff around with it on iPhoto plus or summit.

I may do that cos I know you know your stuff and if you were sat next to me you'd prolly sort it out for me.
I do appreciate your trying to help me. Seriously, I do. :)
There be loads of online sites which guide setup. And video's. Follow it to find the settings int wukkin pc. Setup new on the same.

A "Designated Crossing point" is either a Zebra crossing or wherever you see a dropped kerb with those little square pavers with the round braille-bumps on them (for blind people to feel with their feet). The highway code was altered to re-establish the priorities at all junctions. Right of way is:
1. Pedestrians.
2. Cyclists.
3. Motor vehicles.
So as I was at a "designated crossing point" the first driver stopped to let me cross, the second one did not.

What gets me is why they put such crossings so close to junctions/roundabouts?
Why not make them walk another 30ft (10m for the youngsters) so they are a bit clearer of other things drivers have to think about?

Ta, mate.

Mad I know but although we have only been in Frogland barely a fortnight we are already organising our winter holibobs.
We already have Christmas week sorted in Cornwall, today we are trying to sort out another week just afore that in Devon.
Waiting to see if they'll be happy with the changeover day we want.
If so Bideford here we come!
Never been there despite living in Devon for a year.

Not the best of days.
First:
Well that was VERY exciting.
😱

I was storming up a local hill (just for fun and to let the Mini stretch its legs a bit). I got to the top where it drops from 60mph to 40, then 30 and took my foot off the throttle but she kept on going and not slowing down. In the end I had to shut the ignition off and coast up the last bit and make the turn and then pull in and stop.
I started it up again and the revs went through the roof so I switched it off again. Popped the bonnet and took a gander.
The speedo cable had managed to shift and jam itself in the accelerator return position.
I freed it off but did not spot that the choke cable had also jumped off the mechanism and so the choke was well "ON" and the revs wouldn't drop below 2,000.
I had no tools on board so had to limp home with a bit of clutch slippage.
🙁

Could have been worse I suppose.
🤣

Second:
BIL (the crap one) turned up on my doorstep and was giving his sister (my wife) a hard time.
I suggested he take himself off my property and he threatened to shove his walking stick down my throat.
It escalated from that point and I took my stick out of the umbrella stand in the hall and suggested he have a go then.
Wifey pushed me back inside the house and told him to "just Foxtrot-Oscar". Which he did after lots of self assurances that "we were all crazy".
He is not really welcome here any more.

Mornin
Sunny again, watered plants and admired me stripey lawn 😊
A second hanging basket to put up today plus put a new gaiter on Freelander gearstick
Sold the Mazda 3 yesterday so now down to 2 cars a truck, the Freelander and a motorbike 🤔
Anyone want a cheap Volvo D5 saloon ??
Stay holy all :)

Do hope he never comes back or anywhere near you, your W or your MIL.:mad::mad:

And carry a cheap toolkit in any car you drive. ;)
Like always having an umbrella with you it'll guarantee nothing ever goes wrong necessitating it!!!
(Even W has one of those in a little zipped up case under the passenger seat. I think I opened it once, the car was on the drive but it was quicker than getting stuff from the garage or out of the Disco which is rammed with tools! )🤣

Did you try pulling the accelerator up with foot or hand? This happened to W once, she drove all the way from Basingstoke, to Ferndown like it. 😲 😲 😲 She wasn't in the AA or owt and I was in work so non-contactable. Citroen BX, the accelerator cable had come off a quadrant, if I remember rightly, took seconds to fix.
