At the ancient festival of Imbolc the sun sets directly over the somewhat over-priced Texaco petrol station:

It's not widely known, but these things are positioned as points in a sophisticated astronomical computer, marking the important festivals of the Celtic year. At the summer solstice the rising sun shines through the gap between pump no. 4 and the canopy and strikes the door of the gents urinal, marking the turning of the pagan year.
 
.... that I have been doing some (very limited) tidying in the workshop and cleaning and oiling the lathe.
Where all the years of oil and tarnish were baked/dried on a spray of WD40 and a rub with a scourer has restored everything to almost like new. :)
Thinking of what new and exciting project I can undertake with such a lovely machine. :)

They stay open very late do they 7pm :rolleyes: Oh an therses a duck stuck behind the fence...........
