How do you stop them falling down and ending up in yer boots? (Asking for a friend) :D
You make a cut from the front down and round the crutch and up the back this makes them stay up and helpful with your tackle for a pee you don't have to get fully undressed I used to do a lot of night beach fishing at Southwold in temperatures of -- 6 trust me thay work and the rest of my butch fishing buddy's would agree 😜😜

Just back in from visiting Xylia in the hospital. She's being plied with intravenous antibiotics and they keep taking blood samples. She seems to be a lot more comfortable now I've taken in more of her own clothes and some consumer electronics. She likes plenty of iPhones and iPads in her life. One of the nurses said that it looked like some of the swelling and inflammation had gone down. Maybe it has - some of the affected areas seemed a little less congested and a bit softer. Anyway, we'll see how she's doing tomorrow.

One good thing is that they're looking after her pretty diligently. One thing that worried me a bit about her going into hospital was that there might not be anyone to take care of her. My mother had several spells of hospitalisation in the 1990s and early 2000s and you never saw the staff at all. People's relatives seemed to do a lot of the caring, coming in with dustpans and brushes to clear the fluff from under the beds and sterile wipes to clean the bedstead and trays. The WRVS ladies used to come round with a trolley with tea and coffee, chocolate bars and miniature cakes each afternoon, and they did quite a lot of work in looking after the patients. That was 20 odd years ago. But this is a different world. The nurses and care assistants are busy, but they're certainly looking after the patients. If they're not taking temperatures and blood samples they're going round asking people if they want a cup of coffee.

Thanks again to everyone who's been offering good wishes. Everybody's being so nice!

I've not tried it with hosiery but I have found that wearing some of Xylia's old stirrup leggings under my trousers is good for outdoor work in cold weather. She's grown out of them so I've borrowed them. Of course, you can get expensive branded outdoor base layer gear, but £9.99 leggings from Matalan are just as good. The advantage of layering up like that is that it doesn't feel bulky and cumbersome. If I put a coat over a jacket over a waistcoat over a jumper etc. it keeps me warm but it's like being the Michelin Man and I can barely move my arms.

All about trapped air layers as you know 😨

Yerbut that's tights, not stockings. Think I'll stick to my manly thermal long johns

I admire your attitude.
What I'd really like to find is one of those dining tables that converts into a snooker table. Only ever seen two in my life. One in a flat in London and another on TV that prog Money for nothing or summat. In one case the dining table bit just lifted off the top of the snooker table and was put to one side, in the other the table rotated so there was the dining part on one side and the snooker part on the other. So in both cases each table was the same size.
Do you need to keep the basic table part for something? If not you could make a basic chassis out of box section, fit it to your table base and fit the top to that.
I have never looked for a secondhand table, so I don't know how easy they are to find, and I have a horrible feeling that full size ones might be easier to come buy as my ex s-i-l has found them and chopped them up for the hardwood. But if you could find a proper half size one it'd have a proper slate bed. When I was at school we got hold of one and put it together. The bits of slate were as heavy as heck but they sure gave a good surface.
I bet @kevstar could get one if he put his mind to it!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Funny you should say this as there was one for sale locally & I had a wee look about. There are a few on marketplace
the one that I liked was selling for 3k but retail price was 12k  Think it was in Cornwall or the likes........

Tuff to stay at the top. Pockets are bouncing hard hit balls but thats normal. Tables never new. They're known working used ones for the event. Some balls have rattled but if hit slower they would have stood a betterer chance of going in. Some players have missed easy shots. Ronnie miss que'd a pink and missed it. Some years its like this.

Seams the way now loads are potting browns rather than pinks.🤣
