No one buys a Freelander because they want one

They buy them because they dont have the guts to drive a proper Land Rover :p:p:p:p

Er I've had all of em and built them and off roaded them I have a D2 commercial and a freelander at present. Read horse and hound I believe they recommend a manual diesel p38 for towing (or used to) hmm they clearly know their stuff:D

Yes well my views on Rogs advice on the H&S towing clinic are well known. According to them I could tow an Ifor with the Focus :p:p But only if I downrate the trailer :p

Wrong wrong wrong. Off road/on road Defender 90/10 disco 50/50 range rover 10/90. Freelander was built by bmw to celebrate bmw buying land rover and to go up against the likes of the jimny for younger drivers who wanted to hang out at the beach and drive a normal sized vehicle. The fact it was a land rover it came with an amount of offroad ability. I also believe but dont quote me on this that the prototype freelander was 2wd.

fantasy :p

Rover Group first produced the Freelander nearly two years before beemer and if it hadn't that would have spelt the end of the Land Rover brand forever.
now that is a true fact.

So you picked the most uncomfortable and unsafe product land rover do to tow a horse box? Think a Rangey or disco would do it just as we'll but in comfort;)

If you drive one you may just realise how agricultural a fender is! I like em for what they are I've had one. But I can also accept a freelander for what it is and enjoy driving it!
