I could buy stronger stuff, but I enjoy a drink after a good days work, not the falling down and feeling like ****e in the mornings;)

I drink the same when we go to eat as I drink in the house, no over priced cafes here:D

I don’t really see what the problem is here? Ok cost, wow I am sure that can be easily sorted, I don’t know what percentage of people don’t have either a driving license or passport already.
It’s more a problem for those that do naughty things;) and don’t like being above board. Or all this new world stuff that think the chip in your passport is tracking you:eek:.

The more upstanding people say “I am fine with it get a grip” the better.:)

Howdy folks :D
I have had a most fruitful day. :)
We scoured local suppliers in search of cement powder but none was to be had at any of the "usual suspects". :(
A trip to the TP site in the county town further away where it was showing 266 bags in stock resulted in us snagging 10 bags. :)
From a standing start at 1PM this afternoon we have aid over 3/4 of the patio slabs.
Tom was laying the slabs, I was on the mixer and the barrow and we shifted all 10 x 25Kg bags of cement and almost 2 tons of Sharp/builders sand in a 6:6:1/2 bag mix.
I feel absolutely destroyed/shattered/phucked! But it looks good. :) We will go grab some more cement tomorrow and get the laying completed and then put the gutter drains in.
Tom has a hard stop of EOB Thursday as he has to start another paid project in Surrey on Friday.

you might have noticed its kids hanging about shops ,not prospective voting over 18 to late 20s year olds that generally all have id nowadays as they need it

I am never shy of letting her know i have made a feck up. It don't happen that often, but this has been a bit more common recently. The light fitting as a perfect example. every now and then she fecks up too, knitting or summat.
But sorting the cabinet will be OK. Damn sight easier than the light!!!
Just have to deal with the weight of it and my slightly dodgy back.
Think I'll somehow get it on the floor, then it'll all be easier to handle. I've done far more complex stuff with sh!tboard cabinets in the past.
Just fecked off with myself for wasting my own time. :mad::mad::mad::mad:

I hope your Son and DIL are happy with that. Cos that amount of free labour and “loans” needs paying back with plenty of BBQ/steaks and beer for a very long time.

The awful truth is that they have been in that house about a year and they are still "camping".
My son is a DIY dufus (did not get the DIY gene) and so pays through the nose for "professionals".
He had a quote for the garden fencing and Patio that was over £10K. It has cost a lot less with me and Tom doing it.
Materials costs + Tom @ £150/day and me a £0/day. LOL.
Granddaughter's room needs a fitted wardrobe making, and then decorating and carpeting.
Their main bedroom need a total re-hash, and the garage needs turning into a man-cave/work-from-home office.
Tom won't be available again until September, and I shall be "busy" doing my own stuff. :)

They are going to have to do what the rest of us do - save then spend, save then spend. It might take a good few years to get things done but it will be through their own work. My husband was useless at DIY, in fact he was a liability, and I am sure he was a distant relative of Heath Robinson. :D:D:D I did the decorating so he did the garden etc. It worked, we both did something and for bigger jobs we just had to save. :)

Indeed so. Sadly/happily, I am very much a "have a go" person and I will try my hand at most trades (except plastering). I built the lower floor building of our extension all on my own (after paying a groundwork Co' to do the footings & drains.
Everything else was me, blockwork, roof striking, electrics, plumbing. Unfortunately being "handy" does mean people assume you are just "gagging" to do their projects too, and it does not help when your better half keeps offering your "plumbing/Central-heating/decorating/kitchen-fitting" services for free to distant family members. :( But we survive. :D
I have to remind people that I am coming up for 67 not 37 like them and I am not as strong as I used to be at all.
